Welcome
Welcome to the 2023-2024 school year! I am excited to get to know a new group of students and their families! This will be my 19th year teaching. I am originally from La Vista, Nebraska and a graduate of Papillion - LaVista High School. I attended College of Saint Mary and graduated with my Bachelors Degree in elementary (K-6) and early childhood education. While at CSM I was also a member of the golf, softball and basketball teams. I received my Masters Degree from Peru State College in Curriculum and Instruction with an Emphasis in Technology. I have taught several grades on my educational journey including 2nd, 4th, 5th and 6th. I am excited to begin this year here in Mount Ayr. Go Raiders and Raiderettes!!
I have been married to my husband for over 17 years. We actually met while we were both teaching and coaching basketball. He is currently serving as Superintendent of Bedford Community Schools and Mount Ayr Community Schools districts. We have four wonderful children who keep us very busy! Jaylee (9th), Kellon (8th), Kynzlee (4th) and Jaycee (1st). During my free time I love to head to the lake, read, bike ride and spend time with my family!
When I am not in the classroom you can find me coaching athletics with the schools. I will be coaching the middle school Girls Volleyball and hitting the links with the High School Golf team.
