Meet Mrs. HW

I came to Mt Ayr Elementary School from Saint Anthony's Catholic School, and this will be my 4th year at Mt Ayr. I am in my 5th year of teaching title reading. I went to Temple University for Journalism and Communications. I then worked in the Marketing and Advertising world for many years. I decided I was ready for a change, so I went back to school for Elementary Education, with an endorsement in Reading at Graceland University. My students call me Mrs. HW, because my last name is a mouthful.

 

I was born and raised in NYC. My family and I moved to Lamoni in 2017. I am married to my husband Twong with 2 beautiful girls. My youngest daughter Ashleigh is in MS going into the 8th grade. My oldest daughter Jayla will be a freshman this year at Concordia College in Moorhead, MN studying nutrition and dietetics. My youngest daughter Ashleigh is a cheerleader, plays volleyball and she runs track which all keeps me very busy.  In my spare time I love reading, and spending time with my family.
