Elementary Art & STEAM Teacher

Hello! My name is Mrs. Emily Heflin, and I teach Elementary Art and STEAM at Mount Ayr Elementary School. This is my fourth year at Mount Ayr, and I’m excited for the year ahead and all the learning, creativity, and fun it will bring!

I’m originally from Indianola, Iowa, and now live in Bedford with my husband. I earned my degree in K–12 Art Education from Northwest Missouri State University. Outside the classroom, I love spending time with family and friends, thrifting, traveling, hiking, and cheering on the Iowa Hawkeyes, Kansas City Chiefs, and Indiana Fever.
