Mount Ayr Bands

My name is Aaron Comer and I am the band director for the Mount Ayr Community Schools.  I have been blessed to spend the majority of my life in Ringgold County.  I was born and raised in Mount Ayr, and I'm also a graduate of MACS.  Additionally, I received my Bachelor of Arts in Music Education degree from Graceland University in Lamoni, Iowa. I have been in education since 2002 and this my sixth year of teaching at MACS.  I have also taught in the Central Decatur (Leon) and Lamoni school districts.

We have an amazing band tradition at our school.  MACS band director legends Merrill Perry and Greg Storhoff were my teachers/mentors and almost all of my teaching techniques and philosophies are directly tied to the things I learned from those amazing Mount Ayr instructors.

My wife, Beth, and I have been married for 17 years. Our twins, Aiden and Belle, will are middle school students at MACS.  We live on the family farm a few miles west of Mount Ayr.  When we are not busy with school activities, we love to spend time with extended family, attend Kansas City Royals baseball games, watch TV/movies, attend yearly church camps and retreats, and play/work on the farm.
