My name is Darla J. Sobotka. I taught 40 years before retiring. I have taught special education, Title I reading, kindergarten, second grade and third grade. I graduated from Diagonal High School in 1978. I then attended Northwest Missouri State University where I got my undergraduate and Master's Degrees. I live on a farm west of Mount Ayr with my husband, Gary. We own GLS Manufacturing and have two tractor pulling sleds called “The Rock” and “Red Rock”. My husband and I have 4 children, Rachel (Michael) Inloes from Bucyrus, Kansas, Cody (Stephanie) Sobotka from Colo, Iowa, Matthew (Caitlin) Sobotka from Mt. Ayr, Iowa and Alex Sobotka from Lincoln, Nebraska. We have 7 grandchildren, Nathan, Julia, Taylor, Alice, Carson, Tatum and Hoyt. When not subbing you may see me taking photos for the Ringgold County communities of Mt. Ayr and Diagonal.
