Hello! My name is Kris Quick and I am the PK-12th Grade Special Education Coordinator. I work with students, teachers, and paraprofessionals in three different buildings. I really enjoy working with the staff on their paperwork, collaborating with staff and parents, and working with students of all ages and many different staff members daily.
This is my 28th year in the education field. I graduated from Northwest Missouri State University in 1991. My undergraduate degree was in Elementary Education and Early Childhood. I then received my endorsement in Early Childhood Special Education from the University of Northern Iowa in 2002 and am currently working on my masters in Special Education Consultation with the University of Northern Iowa, with an anticipation of graduation in the Summer of 2020. I previously worked at Grand Valley School teaching Second Grade, Preschool and Kindergarten, East Union teaching Kindergarten, and teaching ECSE and Kindergarten in Mt. Ayr.
I live on a farm in rural Tingley, Iowa with my husband, Bruce. We have three grown children; Colton, Austin, and Ashton. Colton and Austin both farm near Tingley and we are blessed with four grandchildren (Jaxon, Cooper, Elena, and Aislee) and two daughter in laws. Ashton has graduated from the Aveda Institute in Des Moines and is currently residing and working in Waukee and West Des Moines. As a family, we enjoy the farm life and spending time with the cattle. We also enjoy traveling and spending time with our extended family.
Tell me and I forget. Teach me and I remember. Involve me and I learn.
