Elementary Guidance Counselor

Hello, my name is Callie Poore. I recently returned to Mount Ayr after 20 years of living out of state and am so grateful for the opportunity to be the MACS Elementary Guidance Counselor! I am a 2004 graduate of Mt.Ayr High School, my passion for education began as a student at Northwest Missouri State University where I received my Bachelor of Science degree in Speech and Theatre Education. Minoring in Psychology sparked my interest in counseling which led me to the best of both worlds! After completing my undergraduate degree I earned my Masters of Science in Education with a focus in Guidance and School Counseling. My professional experience ranges from higher education to lower elementary. Most recently as the Center Director for a Mathnasium Learning Center in Centennial, Colorado working with students K-12. What I love most about the elementary level is the genuine curiosity students have in their learning and the world around them, as well as the opportunity for early intervention support that can have a lifetime positive impact on a child. 

 

In my free time, I love to be in nature with my dog Jovie, watching Chiefs football, and spending time with friends and family. I'm fortunate and honored to have the opportunity to be back in my hometown and give back to the community that once raised me.
