Well, hello!
My name is Mrs. Courtney Adams and I am one of the special education teachers in the Mt. Ayr elementary! I am starting my 17th year of teaching (16th year here at Mount Ayr). I graduated from Mount Ayr High School in 2002. Then, I received my degree from Buena Vista University. Later, I pursued my Master's in Special Education from Graceland University. Even before my teaching position, I worked as an associate in special education classrooms! I have been lucky enough to teach 4th and 5th grades, as well as working with every grade level within special education from K-8!
Now, beyond the classroom...
I am a mother of 4 children. Ashtyn is attending DMACC for nursing, Weston is in 8th grade, Ellison is in 6th grade, and Mason is in 3rd grade! My husband (Austin Adams), children, and I live in out in the country between Mount Ayr and Kellerton. We have 2 dogs (Pip and Walter), a cat (George), and a few farm cats as well!
We are constantly on the go, and if there's any down time (it is rare), I genuinely enjoy taking photos, crafting, and repurposing about anything I can get my hands on!
I look forward to this coming school year with opportunities to implement new instructional strategies and information gathered throughout my summer!
