Annie Hosfield » Title 1 Teacher

Title 1 Teacher

My Education
I graduated from MACHS in 2011, and then from Graceland University in 2015 with an elementary education degree and endorsements in math and reading.  This is my third year teaching Title 1 at Mt. Ayr Elementary.
About Me
I have been married to Cass Hosfield for five years. Together, we have a son and live on a hog farm south of Mt. Ayr.  We love life on the farm and spending time with our families.
I love my career as a teacher and my latest job of coaching high school cheerleading. When I'm not at school I enjoy reading, Wheel of Fortune, traveling (Colorado is my favorite!), and baking.
My Classroom
I teach students in every grade K-6, and I deliver reading interventions to students individually or in small groups for 10-30 minutes at a time.  I teach everything reading, from letter sounds to comprehension strategies.  My students sit on wobble stools and use a variety of tools such as marker boards, magnet tiles, and hands-on manipulatives to complete their work.
About Title 1
The Title 1 team uses a variety of assessments and standardized tests to group students so that we can specifically target their deficits.  Our program is designed to be flexible and extremely personalized so that we can deliver the best instruction for our students.  We use different programs depending on the student's grade level and educational needs, which may include Fundations, HD Word, or 6 Minute Solutions.
